Postcards from Bali
Postcards from Bali – 2017 I have been in Bali, Indonesia since March 2017, with a trip to Sydney in between. These are a few postcards I have created from my travels. You can read about my time in Sydney or in Bali. I am on a journey to find a new life and a new home, and I have no idea where this will be. I didn’t know I was coming to Bali never mind, staying here all this time on a Social and Cultural visa. I hope you enjoy the images and the stories of my time here in Bali. Bali is the one place I actually feel…

Sound Healing with the Gong
Sound Healing with the Gong Sound Healing with the Gong: I recently took a couple of Gong Workshops. I have always been interested in sound healing and for one reason or another, I have never taken a course. I have been to quite a few gong and sound healing sessions whilst in Bali, but never really thought about taking a workshop to learn myself. I heard Mehtab Benton a Gong Master was doing a workshop in Ubud and I remembered his name as my Yoga teacher in the UK had recommended him in the past and so when I saw he was in Bali I jumped at the chance to…

Finding what you want in your life
Finding what you want in your life Finding what you want in life. I have never really known what I wanted to do in my life. Not having had a clear direction or a really strong passion to follow has meant that I have fallen into a variety of careers. It has made me try out new areas I would never have imagined and I have often changed jobs in between traveling and trying to live abroad. I am once again at a new crossroads in my life where I would like to learn some new skills and utilize the ones I have. Ask yourself the question if you could…

It’s all about Dogs
It’s all about Dogs Connection, Compassion, and Companionship For the moment I am happily settled in Ubud. Although I absolutely love dogs, this particular long-term dog sit I was offered didn’t quite work out for me in the end. The universe realised I needed my freedom and it signalled it through my body… so the choice was pain or let go! I choose to let go of a commitment instead of feeling the pain, a no-brainer but in the past, I would have just done it anyway! So a bit of bravery on my part to make a sudden change and throw my current plans in the air. In life,…

Finding home
Finding home… Currently living in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia Finding Home: It’s nearly a year since I left the UK in search of a place to call home. What actually is a home? Is it a place, or the people that reside it in. I guess I was thinking that it would be a place, as I have only myself to live in the home. Without going in to any unnecessary detail I have suddenly found myself, single again and in search of a new country and place to call home. For now I have found myself unexpectedly and happily living in Ubud, Bali, a place where I feel a sense of…

Back to Bali, Indonesia
Why I have fallen in love with Ubud, Bali – June 2017 Back to Bali, Indonesia:I throughly enjoyed reconnecting with Australia after all these years, and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay in Newport Beach in the Northern Beaches. The Sydney Writers Festival was a treat and I even got to meet Robert Forster of the Go-Betweens and we had a chat about the music business in the 90’s. Now it’s back to Bali and I am on a dog sitting adventure for a few months and living in my favourite place, Ubud. Ubud is the centre of spirituality, art, music, yoga and all things cultural…

Love is like a butterfly
Love is like a butterfly … a rare and gentle thing… All about Love and Loss I titled this post “Love is like a butterfly” because I have just been writing this post on the bus, and the song of the same title is playing very loudly which makes me smile! In Sydney, drivers can play whatever music they like on their buses. It floats through the air, so loudly I am unable to hear the Go-Betweens on my iPod. The music transports back to the to the 70’s sitcom show Butterflies. It is also very apt as I am just been writing this blog post thinking about the…

Top Ten Things in Sydney this week…
1. Sydney Writers Festival 22nd-28 May 2017 I will be seeing Robert Forster ex founding member of the Go-Betweens, he’s doing a talk at the Sydney Writer’s Festival. He has written a book called GRANT & I. I saw the Go-Betweens play live loads of times in London over the years. They have recorded over 15 albums but never really hit the big time! A bit like the Indie band I was in during the 90’s – never quite got there but had a lot of praise during their time. I will be seeing Liane Moriarty author of The Husband’s Secret and Little Big Lies – she was really popular in my book club…

For the last six months I have been traveling in Nepal, India, Bali and now I am in Sydney, Australia. It wasn’t planned that I would be here for my birthday but I found myself here house sitting in…
