Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, Ubud, Bali 2023

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, was held in Ubud, Bali. It was the 20th Anniversary of the festival and was created by Janet De Neffe, a long time resident of Bali, with her husband I Kadek Suardana. 

It was amazing and the highlights for me was listening to Vandana Shiva, Environmental Thinker and Activist. You can see her on Instagram @vandanashiva1 or @vandanashivamovie...

"There is a value to experience it deepens your wisdom and it deepens your knowledge, even though the values stay the same, that's consistent; but the depth of knowing grows. When you take on big powers, and I have taken them on,  they give you big lessons on how to be resilent. You can't do this for one day or two days, but facing big powers and organising in creative ways. Constantly creating new partnerships."

 Also the talk Journey to Freedom with Edel Rodriguez, Agus Nur Amal and Behrouz Boochani. Fascinating listenning to their stories of transformation and growth after such struggles. Finding creative ways to express their truth under their experiences of oppression and imprisonment.
